shaking legs

Dd is 10 and had been having a problem for the last two months with her legs shaking, started as a sort of gentle shiver but is now a very definate tremor which goes on most of the time. She has so far been to about 4 doctors, and has twice been to pediatrics as an emergency. Now she is currently waiting on an appointment with the neurologist. Not one of the people she had seen had any idea what is causing it so I'm really just here wondering if anyone here had experienced anything vaguely similar that might help find out what is going on.
She had had a round of bloods taken all of which came back normal.
Any ideas???

Has anyone suggested an MRI? Do you have private health cover? Can you speed up the process to see a neurologist?

No experience of this for a child but sound similar to me - first thought it was restless leg syndrome then turned out to be psoriatic arthritis. Probably not what she has but worth considering if it's autoimmune rather than neurological?

There are probably a lot of things it could be. I just wonder about the NHS' ability to diagnose big ticket illnesses which need treatment fast. So I would be looking to cross off the worst case scenario diagnoses first.

Thanks for the replies, appointment came through for the neurologist so she has an appointment in two weeks.
Another doctor also prescribed her beta blockers to try yesterday.
It took 4 visits before they even took a blood test from her and me kicking off and insisting on being seen by a particular doctor before they even took it seriously.
Unfortunately no private health insurance but wish I did.

I hope the blood test sheds some light. Good luck for the neurologist appointment. You have to push, if you feel like she isn't getting the attention she needs. Make no apology.
