Scared mum - polydactyly surgery

DD has radial polydactyly (an extra thumb) on her right hand. She is scheduled for surgery in 6 weeks, age 15months & the closer it gets the more worried I'm becoming . Does anyone have any experience of this?TIA

No experience but I've taught children who have had this surgery. Heals well with no complications as far as I have seen. Different when your own child is going through it though. :) Good luck!
