Dd has just turned six and seems to constantly have mouth ulcers, she has some really bad ones at the moment I think related to the fluoride vanish that was recently applied at school. I am going to get her to the dentist tomorrow but any suggestions meantime for pain relief? I have read also that a sls free toothpaste may help but I can't find one suitable for children. Any suggestions?

My ds suffers with ulcers, we ditched the ordinary toothpastes and maybe it helped but not much. Anyway the internet suggested a L-lysine and bvits supplement. It is amazing, I crush the tablet and mix in yogurt. Gp thought I was mad, dentist never heard of it but both very convinced subsequently. The b bit might help but it's te lysine that has worked wonders.

Can't now remember what helped the pain so much- we used everything the chemist sold...

Use baby bongela for the pain. My ds used to get them regularly but we switched toothpaste to pronamel. He's 12 though so check age. He also uses a non alcohol mouthwash.
