constipated baby

nine month old doing very loud grunts and strains til her face reddens and her eyes nearly pop. her stool is pretty loose (sorry) though so not sure if it's constipation, but it must be the way she strains and grunts?? Any tips on baby friendly laxative?

Or you could look at her diet. She could be lactose intolerant or gluten intolerant (does she eat a lot of wheat products?). I would definitely also get her looked at by a doc. Pureed prunes (or chewing a prune or two if she's BLW) are gentle and loosening for the gut.
