Help please - maybe threadworms?

DS1 was very upset on Sunday evening, took ages to go to sleep, with some complaints of a sore bottom. The same happened on Monday, and I wondered if I saw a small worm when I was wiping his bottom. I acquired threadworm treatment for us all on Tuesday, he was treated maybe 4pm yesterday, but I was expecting yesterday evening to be awful again, but he was fine, and went straight to sleep. I've had some doubts as to whether I was mistaken as I didn't believe the treatment worked that quickly? And also just wondering whether I actually saw a threadworm - it didn't move, I guess it could have been something else. I was glad he was better anyway. But tonight he's been very upset again, possibly the worst yet. I don't know whether to just assume it is threadworms, the treatment is still working, and last night was a blip, or try and get a GP appointment tomorrow because something else is going on. In the daytime he is fine, just tired, but that's not that surprising when he's missing out on a couple of hours of sleep each evening.

Thanks, we've got a potty around so if he'll cooperate, I might give that a go. We've all had our first dose of treatment anyway, and the washing machine is working very hard, so hopefully we're on our way to sorting it if it is that.

My ds1 had it about this time last year. A few nights of complaining just in the evening and really crying about a sore bum. I thought maybe he was just straining or something. He also developed a rash around his mouth and nose at which point I took him to gp but she didn't know what it could be. I checked his bum when he was asleep on advice from here and I saw them. Never saw anything in stools though. I had us all treated and kept an eye on it, cleared up in a couple of days. I also saw them in ds2 but he didn't complain even when I asked if he was sore and itchy, he said no.
Is not nice so I hope it settles soon

I'm just in the process or ridding our house of them we went to Turkey for our holiday at the end of August all inclusive had a great time and thought can't wait to go back, now I'm not that sure about going anywhere again lol. I found out last Friday that I had them, I had a hysterectomy in the middle of September and spent 4 days in hospital after surgery got home but Monday ended up back there due to chest pain well I spent Monday to Friday being poked prodded and made to give a sample of this and a sample of that at every touch and turn BUT when it came to give the poop sample I couldn't believe my eyes loads of wiggling white things i was so embarrassed but I had to inform them anyway they gave me the medication in tablet form and a big tub of lactose laxative that I had to take 3 times a day. I got home and furiously googled it and now have total paranoia about the whole thing I'm wet wiping the whole house everyday washing all 4lots of bedding daily and eating pumpkin seeds an hour before taking my laxative. Today was the first time I did a clear poop and the kids had clear bums tonight for the first time Were going to take another round of Meds Friday then again the following Friday then I'm going to do a deep hover and full clean again so hopefully I'll remove them from our lives. Oh and I'm doing all this 2 weeks post op so I'm hoping all the pain isn't in vain. The thought of living withy them forever scares the life out of me one thing I will keep from this is the morning showers it gets everyone really motivated :-)
