Blue/Purple Tongue

Hi All

Twice now in recent weeks my daughter's tongue has turned bluey/purple colour. The first time I thought it was my imagination but this time (today) family members noticed it. It doesn't stay like this for very long. I am going to take her GP monday.

I just wondered has anyone else ever had anything similar???

Is she well in herself, breathing ok? That sort of colour suggests oxygen level issues and can be quite serious. If there is genuinely nothing else that worries you then fine, but if she isn't herself then really that sort of thing should be an A&E urgent visit.

By any chance has she been eating sweets or foods with colouring in them? That is about the only other thing that springs to mind.

apart from teething and the a hit of snotty nose (nursery germs) she is a well an active baby.

I can't think of any foods she has with that kind of colouring!
