ds is 2.5 weeks old and was admitted to hospital on day 16 with a stomach problem. On arrival in a&e he was in shock and needed a lot of fluid, his stomach was extremely swollen and mottled.
After three days in hospital he continures to have spiking temperatures, a painful and distended stomach and now what appears to be a viral rash. He's on four different antibiotics and was on an anti viral until his lumbar puncture results came back clear today. Xrays have shown a small area of thickened bowel but no other issues. Blood cultures have come back clear. He was nil by mouth for 24 hrs and seemed to improve. Last night I was allowed to start feeding again and this morning his stomach was very sore. His team of doctors say its a waiting game. They seem to think its an infection but not sure where. There is also some discussion about cmpa and reflux but as secondary issues.
He had his ptt snipped on day 7 but still can be quiet 'clicky' when my milk lets down.
I don't know what to do or think. I'm so worried for him. He's so littleSad

That must be so stressful for you. If he still sounds clicky, I would try to contact a lactation consultant that specialises in tt, have a look here.

Sorry I've got no other experience or advice, can just offer some virtual hand holding Thanks

How are you getting on now nearly Thanks

Better thank you. No definite reason as to what caused the problem but ds is much improved.

Thank goodness he's feeling better. How are you? It must be awful having a baby so poorly. Is DH coping with it all too?
