My friends granddaughter has come home from a half day at school (first year) and she has quite bad body odour, just in her armpits.
Is the normal? She asked me as my son in only just in Yr1 and she wondered if I'd noticed it on him or any other children. Have to confess, I haven't and I thought BO was tied in with puberty / hormones.
Could it be a hormone problem?

My daughter (now 10) started with BO when she was 5. No health problems. Daily washing. Clean clothes. All of those things. It was rather dispiriting. I got her a Pitrok natural deodorant to use and that helped a bit.

At 10, though, she is using Sure and I still have to be very vigilant around her. Her school shirts have to be pure cotton - a nightmare to iron. Some of her T shirts I soak in a Teatree solution.

You can reassure your friend, though. It's unusual and unpleasant, but not a health problem.
