Toddler poos - what's normal?

Sorry, bit of an unpleasant question really! My DD (3) has had funny poos for the last couple of months. It all started with a bout of diarrhoea and things have never gone back to normal. They are like cowpats - very soft and can be quite explosive. I've taken her to the doctor who took a sample (no infection) and then suggested it might be a post-viral lactose intolerance. So we cut out lactose. This seemed to clear it up - things were almost normal for a week or so, but the last few days her poos have been funny again. It's really bothering me and I'll have to take her back to the doctor I think but before I do I just thought I'd ask you lovely mumsnetters what your experiences are. Does this sound totally bizarre or have you had similar with your DC?

My DS had toddler diarrhoea which I'd never heard of but is actually a thing. Nothing concerning and they grow out of it.

My DC is the same age and poos are always firm unless he's sick. I'd definitely get it checked out.

Xpost with Bangers! Never heard of that, that's good to know... Hope it's just that thenSmile

Thanks bangers, I had heard of that but not sure it can be as it didn't start til she was nearly 3. How old was your DS? How long did it last? I think we'll be going back to the doctor Sad

Sorry forgot to check back to this (don't post very often can you tell?!)
My DS was only 12 months so a fair bit younger. Lasted 2ish months and then went but 6 months later and he has it back again! Can't hurt to check with gp
