My 2 year old DD goes into hospital next week to get a colostomy bag fitted and in truth I have no idea about what life is like with one or how you manage it with a child so young? Does anyone have any experience? Is it uncomfortable? How often does it need to be changed? Will she have any restrictions now she has one e.t.c? Anything at all will be helpful!

Hi my 2 yr old ds has had a colostomy bag since March then an ileostomy bag. He's just had his stomas reversed today and I'm mnetting while he sleeps off his GA! Happy of you to pm me if you want a full idea of what it's like to have a stoma. I also got fantastic support from a charity called The Breakaway Foundation for children with bowel and bladder diversions, also the Colostomy Association is for adults but they will send you info and a kids book called 'Sam has a stoma'
