Can teething cause reflux to come back?

My 5month DS is really suffering at he mo. He was never a good sleeper but this week is down to 45min bursts if I'm lucky! Had him in my bed last night and whilst he was much much easier to soothe and settle he still woke with a scream several times. He had reflux and we used to give him gaviscon but this all calmed down around 3.5months and he no longer needed medication. Could teething be starting it all back up again? I know it can cause running nappies so presumable there are some gastric effects?
He is healthy and happy in himself apart from this so I'm just looking for opinions and possible top tips....

DS2 also had worse reflux when teething so we'd just go back to the basics so raised head for sleeping, upright after feeds etc He was on medication anyway but maybe if it carries on for much longer have a chat with the GP about using Gaviscon again?
