GA to unblock tear ducts on Fri at 1130 for 22mo who will not appreciate NBM!

Ds is off to have both tear ducts unblocked on Friday as they've been a nightmare from birth with lots of secondary infections etc and prolonged periods on super strong antibiotics. Due on the ward at midday with instructions not to eat from 730 am and have only water until we arrive and then nil by mouth.

Any ideas to take ds mind off being hungry? Tried and tested methods? I might get him up a little ( lot ) earlier to make sure he gets a decent breakfast (& may then have a nice long morning snooze meaning the problem is then moot Grin )

Any tips on recovery from a GA / what to expect post op /this op for a toddler too would also be much appreciated. Think I'm a little jumpy about it, though goodness knows why. It's routine, a great surgeon and he won't have to have these horrible eye infections any more. Still..

How old is your ds? My dd is 8.5 months gas also had blocked tear ducts from birth, is actually just recovering from a particularly nasty eye infection just now.

I have been told that the op is very straightforward so hope your ds is on the mend soon Smile

He's 22months now and it has been going on for a good while. I've heard the op is straightforward; it's more the pre/ post op management! Hope your dd recovers quickly!
