Swollen glands and neck lump DS3

I took DS to GP last week as he had high temp (40.3)and swollen glands. Also a lump under one gland in his neck.
After seeing GP he had vomiting. He's had very little appetite for a week and had a random episode of vomiting the week before GP visit.
GP requested test for Glandular fever (negative) and also FBC - results were abnormal but as expected (due to virus low white blood cells).
He is very clammy at the moment ( all the time) and irritable/ tired. Is this just the after effects of the virus??
Does anyone have any sage advice - have similar experience?
TIA

Could it be tonsillitis or bad ear/throat infection

Thanks for the reply.
He does have a history of these - I asked GP to check at the time and all clear then.
Maybe a return trip to see again - just hate him being poorly and having to deal with the unhelpful receptionists Confused
