Stomach pain and vomiting

My 9yr old dd has been having stomach pain and vomiting since Sunday. She is vomiting twice a day, mostly in the mornings. No diarrhoea, no temp, no appetite. Her stomach pain is making her unwell. Dr seen her on Tuesday, checked stomach and urine and said it's a stomach bug. We have just came back from a holiday in California so may caught the bug there. She has not pass stool since Sunday so I think this is also contributing to her stomach pain. She is seeing a doctor this morning. Does a stomach bug last this long? What can I do to make her feel better?

Oh poor thing! Sadly doctors these days seem to assess patients on whether they are a danger of becoming a statistic and if not they rapidly lose interest. It may well be Norovirus as fever is often not a feature see: www.cdph.ca.gov/healthinfo/discond/Documents/norovirus.pdf
But the constipation suggests dehydration so she really ought to drink plenty of water. Do not hesitate to go back to the GP - you will probably see a different one and s/he may act as it has not resolved. All the best.
