Dd age 11 had an operation to remove a tooth that was still in her jaw bone, it had not yet come through. It was on the right hand side of her mouth.
She was given a general anasthetic but also a local anasthetic to numb the immediate area. Dd came round from the op fine and we were home by midday. It is now 14 hours since the op and the right side of her face is still paralysed.
I am starting to worry. I was told it should wear off after 8 hours. Should I be worried?

That must be very worrying for you and your dd. I am no expert, but to me it seems a long time. Has it at least wore off a bit? Could you contact the hospital where it was done to check with them?

Thanks Diktrom for answering. I phoned the hospital on Tuesday morning and they assured me that I shouldn't worry. By Tuesday night feeling started to come back and by Wednesday it was back to normal. Thank goodness!
