2yr old bumped head

As I put my 2yr old on my bed to dry him off after the bath he made a mad dash across the bed and fell off, I thought he had just had a minor bump as he calmed down after a cuddle and some milk but he has a tiny cut on his scalp (he must have caught our bedside table) it bleed quite a lot which has alarmed me but the cut is less than a cm and isn't deep, dh is at work til 11 and I'm currently worrying thinking I should call him while we rush to the hospital.
Does anyone have any advice? should I take him to hospital? He doesn't seem to be in pain in fact he's lay next to me with his bottle and watching frozen while I wipe his scalp.

Oh, you must be feeling terrible. If dc is not distressed, acting strange or feeling sick, I probably wouldn't go to a and e, unless he lost consciousness or the cut won't stop bleeding. Why don't you ring 111 and check it out with nhs direct people. I've used them in the past and they were really hopeful

I think scalp wounds always bleed a lot.

Are you worried because you think it needs stitches or because of possible concussion?

I think I'd call NHS direct for advice.

Great minds think a like. I hope he's ok

Thank you for the advice, Im worried because of the blood and with it being a head injury, however its stopped bleeding now and its a tiny cut now Ive been able to have a closer look at it and its not raised at all. He's still trying to jump around on the bed and laughing Hmm so I don't think its bothered him too much, I'm going to continue to sit with him for a while and see how he is.
Thanks Ill give them a call now anyway and ask just to be safe.
