Gift for boy aged 11

We know a boy aged 11 who is currently recovering from a serious operation in GOSH. We don't know him terribly well, but would really like to send him a few bits to pass the time during his recovery. Does anyone here have any advice as to what he might like / find interesting (I have no experience of children this age).

Many thanks in advance to anyone who offers suggestions Smile

Hi I don't have much experience with kids his age either but I would suggest Lego, don't all boys love Lego?

Maybe a book? (probably best to check with his parents to see what he would like) Loom stuff (I have seen plenty of boys using it)? Scotland yard game to play with family/friends (doesn't take up much space, so can easily be played on the bed)?

You can get glossy magazines on Minecraft in Wh smith's. They look a bit like proper computing magazines. Quite grown up and £8 or £10
