Children's asthma

Hi my son jack is 6, he has chronic asthma, he is on inhalers and montelukast since the age of 3, his asthma nurse put his montelukast up from 4 mg to mg 6 months ago but I'm worried about his behaviour he's quite scary very violent and his tantrums start over silly things and last hours, I think it's not for a 6 yr old to behave like this, I need advice is anyone else having these problems

A lot of children don't react well to montelukast, the increase in dose may be just too much for him. I would go back to see the asthma nurse and discuss alternative medication for him
