Intollerances and nappies

DS (11 months) is on a cows milk free trial at the moment, we've also been told to make sure there is no soya in his diet.

Recently his nappies have been awful. Very soft, pale, foul smelling, and this morning, white. Is this ok?

We've been given next to no support, the GP passes us to the paediatrician, paediatrician tells us to speak to the GP. We're supposed to be getting a dietician referral to help us but no sign of it yet. Sick of being treated like a neurotic mother.

That doesn't sound ok. Whereabouts are you? Could you ask the GP to refer you to another allergy clinic nearby? The one you have is obviously useless

I'm in Edinburgh so all referrals go to the Childrens Hospital (Sick Kids).

DS is at the drs all the time it seems.

In that case I would call the paediatrician's secretary and ask to speak to him, saying you are seriously worried.

White poo = generally not ok if sustained. Think you are going to have to prod the docs a bit.
