HI My daughter has bad Eczema on her legs and arms. I took her to the doctors today and she's been prescribed Aveeno moistrising cream. But found later not recommended! What is the best natural cream to use. Any advice please!

We really liked Aveeno - why is it not recommended?

BerylStreep · 30/06/2014 23:34

Oh, we use Aveeno. Didn't know it wasn't recommended.

My GP suggests cutting out wheat for Eczema. Apparently there are studies which have made a very strong link, however better to speak to your own GP before making any changes to diet.

We also use Protopic.

We used aveeno when dd was younger, and it worked brilliantly, but it doesn't seem to work any more. I find you have to keep changing.

Says not good as chemicals work against moisture.

We use steroids and diprobase from the dermatologist. Tried Aveeno but it did nothing for the redness and inflammation, which is what the steroids treat.

Agree need steroids to get rid of the eczema and then emollients to try and prevent it. Aveeno worked for us but we were advised to try a range and see what was best. GP has recently changed prescription to oilatum as aveeno is too dear.
