Son is nearly 6. He fell out a tree and has deep scratch on chest. Would he need a tetanus? His shots are up to date.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

If his shots are up to date then I wouldn't have thought so - boosters are normally every 10 years once the initial set is complete.

he should be fine. tetanus likes soil and rust.
if in doubt you can call your gp.

Did the scratch bleed? Tetanus is anaerobic, if there was no bleeding there could be a problem but if it bled then he'll be fine.

I wouldn't worry about tetanus tbh, when was the last time you heard of anyone getting tetanus.
