Hi,

Woken up this evening to the sound of DS crying. I picked him up only to find he had vomited everywhere, and then he vomited all over me too. I've given him done calpol as he felt a bit warm, and offered him some squash to drink. He had some, but threw it up again 10mins later.

We're sitting on the floor cuddling now, and I'm not sure what to do. This is the first big that he's had, and practical advice greatly appreciated

I hope your DS is feeling better now. My DD was off-color yesterday and started being sick today :(

Generally, just keep fluids up. If you're still BFing then offer while cuddling. If not then offer Dioralyte or another rehydrating solution, weak squash or water - little and often. Even if he's sick he will keep some of it down. Definitely no milk or other dairy while he's still in the vomiting stage.

Once he's up to eating, keep it bland. Toast, rice cakes, crackers. Again, no dairy while he's still feeling queasy.

He woke up asking for breakfast, had milk, water and food then. And he's been fine all day... Until about an hour ago when he threw up again :(

I wish I knew what's causing it :(

Thanks for your reply AndHarry Thanks

Is he overheating in his room? It's quite muggy.

Avoid ALL dairy for 48hrs after vomitting as it irritates an already sensitive tummy. If he had milk it could be that's what happened.
