How long did it take for your DC's first tooth to come through?

Hi All,

Currently mired in teething hell with 4 month old DS. He's been dribbly and grizzling for several weeks but the discomfort seems to have moved up a notch this week. Nobody in the house has had a proper night's sleep since Friday and the poor sprog is crying all the time. Just wondering how long it takes from onset of teething symptoms to the first tooth appearing through the gums...

First signs at 6 months, first teeth at 9 months.

Do you really want to know? Started teething at 4 months - got two teeth at 8 months and we are still waiting for more (11 months today!). Every baby is different but the teething kind of came and went with us, we had a few nights where I said to OH this must be them cutting through now and then suddenly the symptoms would stop and everything would go back to normal for a while.

All my 4dc got their first tooth at 4 months! Early! Not sure how long they showed teething signs though. Dn was 20 months before he got his first! I used anbesol for teething ... much better than bonjela.
Dd is busy getting her wisdom teeth at only 14! She's very sore so sympathises with babies. Although she says babies have it easier as they can use teething rings

First clear symptoms at 3 months (dribbling, gnawing). It came through at 5 months exactly, with another one exactly 2 weeks later. All DD's teeth came through in pairs, each pair within a fortnight of each other. She had all her teeth by 22 months.

She would never use teething toys though. She just bit me, the little monkey. And drinking straws!
