Hi all. My lo is coming up to 9 months. He's a terrible sleeper since anyways but worse since 4 month regression.

In the last few months on and off he wakes himself up quickly after being put down in the evening by vigorously rubbing his eyes and ears in his sleep. Initially I wondered if it was related to hayfever or similar and most people just said the ear tugging and rubbing was most likely teething related. With two of my friends babies diagnosed today with ear infections I'm now worried that I've been ignoring symptoms. I find it really hard to book an appt at our doctors as they have a complicated new triage system and I don't understand it. We've been to the doctors a few times recently with him for other things and I keep forgetting to mention the ears. Is there anything it could be? Should I book an appointment? Will he ever sleep?

Yes, book an appt. When you speak to the receptionist ask how the new system works.

I was going to suggest hay fever or an ear infection, both need checking out so you do need to see a doctor.

Hope he's okSmile

Thanks! I've had a desperately poorly cart this week so we've been all over for vet appts. Hopefully can see the dr this week x

I have hay fever and this year started getting itchy ears when it flares up so I do think it could be hay fever

I get it too! He was on a baby course of antihistamines after getting a bad case of hives which didn't make a difference to his sleep sadly.
