Calpol or ibuprofen...

to help 14m old that has a really sore mouth full of ulcers? Would one help his pain more than the other. I get so confused between the two. He's got an ear infection as well and is on antibiotics(started yesterday). He was on both calpol and ibuprofen because of his 40C fever, but it has finally broken overnight. Not sure what to give him. He is so miserable trying to eat. Been trying food that is kind for his mouth.

If anyone can recommend anything else to try, advice and tips would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance Smile

I would alternate both.

Ibuprofen will take down the inflammation in his ear and mouth. Calpol (paracetamol) will help the pain.

I'll do that. Thanks scarletforya. He's so unimpressed with medicine atm! Let the fun and games begin...
