Any advice welcome as I am probably worrying unnecessarily. Dd is 16 months and for the last 36 hours has had a temp, started around 37, yesterday it went to 38 and last night and this morning 39. She is very lethargic, cuddly, slept most of yesterday, off her food etc but no sickness. She has had a cough for a while now so unsure if it is related. Do I need to get her checked out? Also aware it is Friday so nothing will be open over the weekend.
Thanks in advance

Dr. Not because of anything you've written and I'm not an expert, but it's Bank Holiday Monday coming!

The thing that makes me think doctor is the fact that she is lethargic. When she is awake, is she alert or drowsy? Is she hard to wake when she's asleep?

I think I'd get her checked for peace of mind.

That sounds quite worrying to me. According to this NHS guide lethargy can be a sign of serious illness.

And I was listening to a paediatric emergency doctor on the radio yesterday saying they always take parents seriously when they present at A&E with a child that "isn't themselves" even if nothing is obviously wrong.

Thanks all, she has a nasty ear infection so have come home with antibiotics and told to call out of hours if she gets worse. Thank you for helping me trust my gut x

hopefully she'll start to feel better soon. & poor you there s nothing worse than when your child's ill and you feel helpless. sometimes is good to hear other moms reinforce your need to get it checked out x
