Brushing baby's gums

Does anyone do this? And if so, do you use toothpaste and toothbrush or just a warm wet flannel (as some books advise)? My LO is 7 months and has no teeth as yet - I had a visit from Childsmile yesterday but I've forgotten a lot of what she said, mainly due to my other thread regarding DD falling off the couch (yesterday is a bit of a blur due to the massive fright I got) and also because I was being bombarded with leaflets and info about getting her registered with a dentist.

So...when would you do it? In the morning would it be before or after the first milk feed? Or wait and do it after first solid?

My Dd is just 6 months old. I brush her teeth (she has 3) twice a day using a baby toothbrush and baby toothpaste. I did this also with my son who has never had any issues with his teeth.

I never brushed gums, just the teeth when they arrived.
