One month old eating strangely ... or not?

Hi all,

Well our second DD is now one month old (exactly today!). Our first DD was born at 31 weeks, had special feeding patterns (forcing at times), never really cried for food and we now have a signal that she smacks her chops when hungry/thirsty.

So, when second DD came along in week 38, 6lb 14oz and was demand feeding from the off - we have had a culture shock!!!

At first, she was 3oz every three hours or so, then this amount built up (we would end the 3oz feed, she would cry 20 minutes later, suck hard on our finger and only stop when we offered more milk).

We're now in the situation where she is drinking 5-6oz every 5 hours or so; sometimes she goes 6 hours.

We look at her and think "where does it all go" but she won't stop crying (dummy, finger do not work) until she has had what she wants.

Is this something to be concerned about - we hear other mums talking about 3oz every two to three hours for their one month old?

Thanks as always

Mine was taking 8 oz bottles up to every 3 hours by onemonth - it ssounds fine just feed when she wants food is the advice was given.

No, just give her what she wanna, she'll stop when she's full. My DS demand fed and got himself into his own little routine. Just increase the milk as she wants it.
