Shes just turned two and started projectile vomiting on Sun, this lasted for 24 hours and then the diorrohea (sp?) started which she is still suffering with.

Im offering plenty of fluids and also some dioralyte so im not too worried about dehydration and know the signs to look out for. She just seems really weak and is also running a slight temp. Her appetite hasnt suffered in fact she seems to be eating more than normal, is this ok or will it be prolonging the illness? Im just offering bland foods such as toast and porridge.

How long does a tummy bug usually last? Its into its third day now and doesnt seem to ending any time soon Sad

Think im getting it too, had some awful stomach cramps today so me and DD are feeling well and truly sorry for ourselves today! Excuse for a nice cosy pj day though, well inbetween all the washing and cleaning poo up Grin

I was told when my 5 month old had a bug they only worry when they've had diarehoa for more than 10 days. I was also told to expect it to last for around 10 days. It did. Try some natural bio yogurt like yeovalley, i find that helps. As well as the brat diet, toast, rice, apple and banana. If you are worried ring the doctor though.

Thanks for the advice coldwater. I ended up taking DD to docs this afternoon as she started refusing liquids and suffering quite bad stomach cramps, doc pretty much repeated what you said Grin

Diagnosed oral thrush though which explains the reluctance to drink so ive got some medicine for that.

Aww bless her. I hope she starts to feel better soon. Its good you've had her looked at by the doctor for some reasurrance. I hate these bugs!

How is she now?

loojimp · 23/05/2014 16:26

Shes doing well thankyou, no diarrohea today (fingers crossed!) The thrush medicine must be starting to work too as she is drinking a little more now, so ive got a much happier little girl!

Thanks for the advice.
