Ds is getting over nasty case of chicken pox. Spots all scabbed over but tonight he was complaining of itching ( little bit of eczema) behind knees. Without thinking a put a little bit of hydrocortisone on the backs of knees. Next to a few of his spots. Just read that you shouldn't use with chicken pox. Will this have done any harm?

Hydrocortizone works by suppressing the immune system and that's not something you want to happen when you have chickenpox.

However, a little bit of it placed near some of the spots is unlikely to have done any great harm.

Just keep an eye on the poxy spots and don't do it again! Wink

Don't worry. I took DD to OOH covered in a rash that I thought was a reaction to jabs. They told me it was eczema and gave me hydrocortisone. It was flipping chicken pox. She seems fine now though.
