My ds2 has been pretty much constantly ill since last June.
It began with a really nasty dose of tracheitis (sp?) and he ended up being admitted to hospital on an IV :(
Since then he has had multiple throat infections/tonsilitis and the gp has referred him to an ENT. He has missed weeks of school.
His respitory paed has also started him on a long term medication to try and help (azithromycin x 3 times a week)
Has anyone else's child needed a tonsilectomy after tracheitis or similar?
Also, how many episodes of tonsilitis does a child have to have in a year to be considered for the op?
