Sleep Study questions

My DC have just undergone a Sleep Study at hospital for possible sleep apnoea.

We have a follow-up appointment with the ENT consultant where I will find out the results but can anyone suggest other questions that I should ask? Thanks.

If it's severe, would they need invasive ventilation?

Thanks, I hadn't even heard of invasive ventilation.

My daughter had this and at the follow up, the consultant went through the results and cause and treatment. She also had a couple if other tests including a laryngoscope.

She had large tonsils and adenoids that were causing an obstruction in her airway. So for us it was a very simple case of adenoid and tonsillectomy. It was a life changing op for her.

Thanks cazzyg, amazing result for your DD. May I ask if she had behavioural issues as a result of sleep apnoea?

She was only 2 at the time so no but she was tired and lethargic, went blue round the lips if she ran.

Her consultants view was it was better to solve the problem then rather than wait as apnoea can have quite serious long term effects on the cardiovascular system, behaviour due to sleep deprivation, difficulty concentrating etc.

I hope you get as successful an outcome.

Thank you. Your consultant sounds great.
