Chicken pox

A friend of my little boy (one year old last month) was around at the weekend and his mum has text to say he has chicken pox so was infectious when they were playing together. I am not too worried about my boy getting it, but am I supposed to stay away from baby groups etc for the next possibly 21 days? Seems a bit excessive but don't want to be the cause of the spread! What is the best thing to do?

Thanks

I'd carry on as normal, unless you see any signs of illness - temperature or lack of energy.

It's been doing the rounds here too.

Ds2 continued going to school and Beavers etc when ds1 came down b with cp. Ds1 managed to get to 8 before he finally came down with it, despite many exposures to it, some on the day it came out on the other child. I started by being cautious about baby groups but after a while I realised we could spend months each year avoiding people because he may come out with cp. In the end he came down with it without me knowing he had been in contact with it!

He also had his mmr jab a week ago, is that likely to interfere with any symptoms ?
