After having some photos developed I noticed both my elder dc had white eye in some photos

They are 5&6

I have read that the eye cancer thing isn't found in over 5s as it is usually well advanced by then

Shoukd I still get them checked out?

I worried about this a lot when my youngest DS was born. I ended up taking him to Moorfields Eye Hospital twice due to strange pictures.

They checked him out and he was fine
I was told both times by different people that 'white eye' is EXTREMELY common when you take pictures on camera phones, as the flash is so close to the lense. There was also another explanation I forget now.

if you're worried get them checked out, but it's a rare cancer and most unlikely.

Thank you

The pictures were taken on my mobile phone so that makes me feel a bit better!
