Chicken pox - what do I need?

So it looks like DS (3.10) has got chicken pox. Which means DD (2.3) will also have it soon.
What should I have in to make sure I don't have any mad dashes to the chemist? DH is away so I want to avoid dragging them both out if they are poorly.

I have - calpol, nurofen, ice pops (for sore mouths!) and anti histamine (kids one obviously). Im going to big supermarket on the way home from work for bicarb.

Anything else I haven't thought of? I know calomile lotion isn't recommended anymore but I have some anyway!

Porridge oats in a pop sock for the bath. Helps with the itching.

Vira soothe gel is good too.

Just out of interest why is calomine lotion not recommended anymore?

It can make the itching worse when it dries apparently. Sources are pretty mixed on it though.

Can you use the soothing cream on toddlers?

Oh I didn't know that.

The gel is suitable for age 1+ but you can only apply it twice a day I think.
