Chickenpox reassurance. Infected by eye?

My ds2 4 has chicken pox. One large one under his eye looks pretty nasty.
I've phoned the dr and they say they are not worried enough to see him but I'm concerned I haven't described it very well over the phone.
It's made the underneath of his eye pretty red and swollen.
Anyway if there happens to be a medic out there who could take a look at this pic and just put my neurotic mind at ease I would be very grateful.

I've no medical background, but I had a similar looking one when I had chicken pox at 18; it was so big I could see it without looking in the mirror. The GP said it was fine and that it wasn't unheard of for people to have spots on the actual eyeball!

Thanks builder. That makes me feel better.
Poor you though, 18's not a nice age to get chickenpox.

Yep apparently I got one on my eyeball as a kid. They go all the way through like a stick of rock I believe. Hope he feels better soon.

I can't see the pics on the app but my dd got spots on the surface of her eyeballs when she had cp. in that. Case they worry about infection of the eye itself and gave her antibiotic drops just in case, but we didn't have to use them and those spots cleared up fine just like the others.

Thanks Juan and Takestwo.
He's being quite perky at the moment so I guess I shouldn't be worried.

Ds had them nasty 2 weeks ago everywhere including on his eyeball!
When I called go they fobbed me off but I insisted they saw him.
Went in and doc put him in anti bs and eye drops.
Trust your instincts.

I hope your ds made a speedy recovery.
