6yo DD very lethargic & tummy ache

DH took DTDs on an overnight scout camp last night and came home today with one well, albeit tired DD1, and DD2 who fell asleep in the car and has basically been asleep since 3pm this afternoon. Apparently she had been complaning of a tummy ache all day and has been very lethargic (being carried around by DH, not participating in activities which she normally loves), although occasionally perking up a bit. She ate a tiny bit of breakfast, a normal lunch and obviously no tea as she's been in bed since they returned. DTDs and a friend were caught raiding the BBQ last night (eating sausages of questionable origin) and I think she might be suffering from food poisoning as she was sick a tiny bit around 1:30pm. But is it normal to be so wiped out by it? She would have been feeling tired anyway as they didn't sleep until 10pm last night and were up at 6am but I'm just not sure whether to leave it until the morning, or do something (what?) tonight? When I finally managed to wake her from the car, she was incredibly groggy, quite hard to rouse really and has only spoken a few words since then, mainly just telling me that her tummy hurts.

I guess I'm just posting to make sure I haven't overlooked a warning sign for something. Thanks in advance!

Have you phoned their friend's mum to see if she's as ill?

If it is food poisoning you'd expect her to be sicker.

Her symptoms sound like the ones my DC picked up at a scout camp too, and they turned out to be a revolting stomach parasite that needed to be killed off with strong drugs, but I don't remember the symptoms being quite so immediate.

She probably had zero sleep. They all come back from scout camp looking like zombies. But I'd call the GP tomorrow if she isn't better.

You sound worried. I would give NHS direct/OOH a call if she is v lethargic, trust your instincts.

Thanks for the replies. Friend isn't sick, nor is DT1. She has been in agony today and so I managed to get the last GP appt. Tested her urine and found Lucites (?) so thinks it might be a UTI. Didn't rule out appendicitis though which was my other worry as the pain is all around her tummy button. She's fast asleep now - and has started ABs - so we shall see what the morning brings.

Fingers crossed ABs kick in and fix whatever it is. Glad you got to see GP.
