My daughter has had a bit of a problem peeing today because of the spots down below - any idea what I can do to help her? I called NHS direct to ask for advice but they have put us down for a call back. She is crying because she needs a wee but it is painful when she does.

Can I use sudocrem on chicken pox or will that irritate them further?

Also she has some in her mouth and not keen on drinking because it hurts and it may make her wee.

Have you tried pouring warm water in a slow stream on her (down below) as she pees? (Post childbirth tip, but maybe it would work for chickenpox discomfort as well).

You could also try giving drinks through a straw, if you haven't already. Gets the fluid a bit further back in the mouth.
