DD really struggling with molars coming through

Shes just turned 2 and having a real rough time of it,she has always struggled with teething but these molars are something else Sad

She just seems to be constantly in pain and just wants to cuddle all day long, shes never normally clingy but is crying even if I get up to use the toilet, make a drink etc.

Shes totally lost her appetite too but seems to be enjoying her milk and cold drinks so not too worried about that. She wont let me anywhere near her mouth to apply teething gel but I manage to smear a little on her dummy (was planning on weaning her off that when she turned 2 but she needs the comfort at the minute!)

Im alternating paracetamol and ibruprofen when her pain seems really bad and offering ice lollys to soothe her gums and hard things bite down on.

None of these seem to be helping much though and shes still crying out of pain Sad Is there anything else I can try?

Sounds like you're doing everything you can at the moment. It's is an awful time. You could get some bickie pegs. My dd loved chomping on those and used to use them like a toothbrush on the fun where the to other was coming through.

Thanks will get some bickipegs, I bought some of those when she got her first few teeth and remember them being good! Its just something to take the pressure off isnt it, shes currently chomping on a wooden spoon Smile

Bless her cottons. They are supposed to be very painful, I suppose that makes sense as they are very big with a much bigger surface area to break through! Hope she's feeling better soon Smile

Thankyou atbeckandcall Smile

I'm in teething hell too Smile

DD 14mo has 2 molars coming through, 1 on each side, she is really suffering
Like you I'm alternating paracetomol and ibuprofen
She has hardly eaten all week, but seems to be sleeping ok bet I've just jinxed that

She is going to look a little gappy though as she hasn't got her fangs yet Grin

Joining in, DD1 (2yrs3mths) is getting her last 4, bottom 2 are through the skin but she is miserable with it, waking through the night.

Just using calpol but I can't wait for this to be over for her.

DD2 (16 wks) is busy cutting her 2nd tooth...Hmm

Awwww... hang in there.

Ahem, did anyone tell you that they have new teeth that come thru at 7yo? Leads to grumpy teething problems all over again!

It's like someone sets the cycle on long-term repeat.

I too am having teething problems with DD (11 months). A number of people swear by teething granules and I'm trying to track them down at the moment. The problem I am really concerned by is that she is grinding the four teeth she has. Does anyone have any suggestions to stop her?
