They feel like sandpaper and skin is sheeting off

She had a headache 2 days ago but other than that is fit and well, no sore throats or rashes or anything

She does have eczema but this doesn't look like her other eczema

She's worried about school on Tuesday as her hands look awful -her words not mine

Any ideas? (She's 10 btw)

Sounds like scarlet fever but without the sore throat and high temp maybe?

Could they have had hand, foot and mouth?

DD had a subtle rash on her palms and feet, but never blisters. I think she had one tiny one on the inside of her bottom lip, but that was it.

Then for a few weeks her skin on her hands and feet just peeled and peeled and peeled.

If hand, foot and mouth, the advice was to keep sending them to school, it's that common and usually very mild.

When I was a child my hands and feet used to peel. Back then the doctors said it was a form of eczema. Today I get it when I am very run down. My doctor prescribes a hydrocortisone cream which clears it up quickly.
Mine starts as tiny fluid filled blisters that when you touch them they burst and then peel. Sometimes I don't even get the blisters it just goes straight to peeling stage!!!!
