Coeliac disease...or not

Ds is 7, small for his age (smallest in class), has had a number of low-grade infections this year that have made him poorly, is milk-intolerant, comes from a family where coeliac and gluten intolerance is rife, is often lethargic and lacklustre and is just causing me concern at the moment.

Dd is 10, small but not to Ds' degree, has very pale skin, is milk-intolerant and, despite mainly avoiding milk and milk products since she was a toddler, still has unexplained tummy troubles.

I'm thinking I ought to request blood tests for coeliac, if only to rule it out. Dh thinks I'm being ridiculous and I'm worried the gp will think the same. What would you do?

If you have family members who have coeliac disease I think it is a reasonable to request that they are tested.
I have a ds who was diagnosed with coeliac disease as a toddler and his younger brother was also tested when he similar symptoms.

I would get them tested just to rule it out. Dont remove gluten from the diet prior to testing or they will not get an accurate result.
