Just wanting to share the pain really....

DS has come down with what seems like his millionth bug since December. He is 3 yrs and been at nursery since 12 months. Am used to constant run of colds interspersed with sickness and diarrhoea etc but this year it has been ridiculous - not helped by giving birth to DD in Jan who now also catches everything despite EBF. DS has quite honestly had more time off nursery since Christmas than he has in total in the last 2.5 years!

Has anyone else found the last few months more sick fuelled? I am stressing that there is something more sinister wrong with him. Even being rational, I'm so sorry for my poor little boy being constantly ill. He's such a lively and cheerful, brave little soldier, but this is even starting to get him down.

By the way, he had chicken pox really badly about six weeks ago. Since then he has lumps behind his ears which the GP says are lymph glands. Will all this affect his immune system even now? If yes, when will it get better?

I think it's more of an age thing.

Are nursery asking parents to adhere to the 48 hr rule for V and D?

Fingers crossed he's clear of everything soon

I think they just have periods like this. I remember when ds was 3 almost 4 he had 6 months where he had sickness bugs, ear infections, slapped cheek, hand foot and mouth, chickenpox, swine flu, pneumonia and chest infections. I'd had dd just before this all started too so I completely feel your pain. It does settle though, promise.
