Ds(7) came down with a high temp on saturday night. He had a temperature temperature yesterday and today as well. He is saying his throat ears neck and tummy hurt. His glands in his neck are huge he looks like a hamster. I will take him to gp tomorrow but has anyone got any ideas what it could be?

Any rash? Even pale? Sounds like scarlet fever - tons going round at moment. If no rash then could be Strep A (like scarlet fever but without rash - same bacteria). Could obviously also be lots of other things but take him to the doctor and insist they swab his throat. It takes two full days to grow the culture in the lab so if its a strep a infection and he needs antibiotics you will want to start that as soon as poss. The throat pain can be very severe - much worse than tonsilitis...

Ment to say he has had scarlet fever before can they get it more than once?He is on antiboics all the time for his chest anyway. But they would need to be changed for another infection.

They can get it again. Get him swabbed!
Mine has been on antibiotics several time recently too. They can go through real runs of illness. I don't think we have had a single day when we have all been well (2 kids two adults) since eve summer. Crazy!
Anyway good luck and hope he feels better soon. Insist on the swab - don't be dismissed with the whole 'probably a virus, come back if it gets worse'. It may be a virus but equally may be bacterial and you waste precious time in not getting a swab underway...!
