My ds2 is 5 and started school in sept.
Since then he has had a lot of time off with illness :(
(Tbh the whole of last year was a bit of a nightmare - he was dx with asthma a year ago)
Since sept he has had;
Tonsilitis
Chest infection
Really nasty d and v bug
Tracheitis
Ear infection
Conjunctivitis
Tonsilitis
And now it seems he has a cold/cough too!
He has been on ABs for 2 weeks and we are back to the gp tomorrow to see if the throat swab results are back.
Should I be asking for bloods?
Referral?
Am I being an idiot and worrying over nothing?
Wwyd?

They are mostly upper respiratory tract infections which are so common in a school environment for the first year or two, especially if he has not been in contact with this particular bunch of children. More unusual if he has been with them through reception.

DGS also 5 only attended nursery pre this new school in September and it's been a non stop onslaught, which we have all caught from him. Cold viruses are all URTI bugs too. We are just hoping Easter brings a respite but doubt it!

It would be unusual for any immunity problems to be the cause of these inspections, but ask your gp if it's likely. I would think not and think it's just been a horrendous winter for bugs.
