Reception eye test

Any opticians or eye experts out there?!
We've had a letter home about our DS2 (age 5) who had an eye test at school. They say that his right eye was 0.100 and his left was 0.250, and they also say logMAR @ 3 metres. They suggest that he needs to have an eye examination. The thing is that he had a check up at the opticians only about 4 months ago and everything seemed fine. Should I be taking him back??

I suspect the optician's test is correct and that he was distracted (or something) at school but personally, I would take him back to the optician to check.

I asked my own optician how frequently children should be tested yesterday and she felt annually was not enough when they are young.

that left eye seems below what would be acceptable, the right is fine.

Id go to another optician, could be he was distracted and lost concentration, could be he has a lazy eye, or a need for glasses.
Make sure you ask the optician to use cyclopentolate drops, this means your son wont have to do anything, and the result will be accurrate.
