Chicken pox still coming out

Hi haven't used this site in years now as my son is 8 but hoping advice please. My son got first chicken pox spots last Tuesday first couple days not many appeared then Friday and Saturday went mad Sunday even some in mouth went to drs Monday now on antibiotics but today more came out!! Just wondering if anyone else ever had this happen? All sites like nhs say spots appear 3-5 days but its now day 9! Any answers would be appreciated many thanks in advance

Poor DS. The appearance of spots does seem to vary. I was advised that giving anti-histamines too early could delay the spots.

Apply aqueous calamine cream, get him a super big cotton T shirt to wear so he is decent but not irritated by fabric touching. Clip his nails.

Give him Calpol if he has a mild fever, if he likes orange juice get lots in for him to drink (I forget why but it's something to do with combatting the body's production of histamine).

Piriton before bedtime can help him get a good night's sleep.

Use vitamin E cream after to lessen scarring.

Just hang in there, I guess.

Dd's were coming out for a week. She started on the Wednesday, by the Saturday she had maybe a dozen spots, then on the Monday-Wednesday she got loads more, so not quite as long as your ds but a similar pattern. Her's and ds2's got infected as well. Hope he feels better soon.
