How hard is it to get a docs appointment ?

Dd has had a rash for a few weeks now, it looks a bit like eczema but won't clear up and now it's started to spread. Now I suspect it could be impetigo

U went to make a doctors appointment and they said the earliest they can fit her in is next Monday !

I would call back and tell them you think it is impetigo try get an appointment sooner, good luck

Last week, I sat in walk-in for three hours with a five month old with bronchiolitis.
Today, less than a minute...

(I may have sent a strongly worded email about last week to the practice manager).

I walked away and burst into tears and I'm not a tearful person, it was just the helplessness and u don't know what it is or what to do.

I'm going to drive to the pharmacy and see what they say. If would be better if there were places to drop in for minor things really. She offered me a fast track slot on Friday at 330

If I want an appointment soon/immediately, I'm normally quite specific, ie Can I make an appointment today, Can I make an appointment in the next 2/3 days as I'm worried about something. If I want one the same day, they usually get a doctor or nurse to phone back to assess if it is urgent. In all fairness my doctor's surgery is brilliant and will give us an appointment when we want one on this basis.

For children - especially young children we would be able to get one same day - I know this, because we got one when DS1 got chickenpox 3 days after we'd brought newborn DS2 home and we needed to confirm what it was and get advice about what to do.

They've said to just come in and wait and they'll squeeze us in before too.

Call back and push for something.

Is there no walk-in sessions? Sounds miserable. You could ask the practice manager (when you're feeling better) what you're supposed to do.
