Blocked tear ducts

Has anyone else's child had this?

Ds has had it from 3 days old (now 15 months) we've done drops which work short term but it always comes back. I wipe them with saline, doesn't help.

His eyes get light green gunk build up all the time. His eyes stream tears a lot.

Was referred to Moorfields where they said its blocked tears ducts and you can either have an op under general to unblock (which I wasn't keen on due to age) or wait it out.

Anyone have any experience and positive outcomes of this?

Yes, with my DGS. His parents waited it out and by 18 months he was fine. Apparently I had the same thing and they would have given me an op when I was tiny - but that was many decades ago (and my mum waited it out!) Hang on in there!

My 7yo had this, eventually they said the same thing - have an op or sit it out.

We sat it out, it cleared fairly quickly after he was 2 iirc.
