SWIM LOVING DD WITH ECZEMA

My 11yr old is a home bird. She has Asthma so manages to duck out of most exercise and I am keen to get her more active. She likes swimming and I have been told over the years that this can be beneficial for Asthma sufferers, however she also gets eczema and the chemicals in the water make her break out badly all over her face and neck. Once it's happened it sticks around for at least a week meaning we can only go swimming every fortnight or so. Anyone with similar experience found anything that helps?

you could look up an ozone pool not one near us but you may find one? the sea or lakes in the summer ... maybe it's on it's way!

Dd has vey bad asthma Zander eczema (really bad). She used to be in swim team. She used to gloop up before swim (50/50 white soft paraffin stuff). Proper shower with soap substitute straight after (couldn't swim at school because they 'don't have time to shower' do she was excluded from lesson. No matter how much I quoted the disabled kids stuff!!!

I think her tolerance increased as time went on. Seawater is hell but not saltwater pools, in france.

Thank you guys. We swim in sulphur pools when on holiday, which is great but will try glooping her up for pool swims Smile
