How to care for your child when ill

How do you entertain your child/children when they are ill? Any responses would be great

We tend to play simple games which can be done on the settee, watch films and tv, and she likes to read.

DS2 just wanted to watch cartoons and sleep when he was sent home on Monday.
Ds1 when he was last off slept and then ended up in hospital with an asthma attach so we just chatted and watched TV
